I would rather call myself an amateur of European composers, particularly German. However, when it comes to naming a Russian genius, Pyotr Tchaikovsky is the one that makes my heart pump blood faster. Gremin’s Aria is so emotional, I love the way piano and voice work together! So deeply emotional. I wish I could read the “Eugene Onegin” poem in the original, though.
